MacCallum's Boathouse has been an active participant in legislative activity at the Statehouse this past fall/winter with regard to House Bill #137, a study commission established to examine the effects of wake boats in the State of NH. The commission’s findings will be published in a formal report due in June 2020.

This commission is viewing scientific data and factual evidence that speak to possible effects of wakeboats leading to the potential spread of aquatic species (AIS), shoreline erosion, the economic impact of recreational boating in NH, the popularity of watersports among families, as well as the safety of swimmers and boaters on NH waterways. This is a complex study, and collectively we are learning together however, with any legislative appointed commission, we have experienced a few commission members with strong anti-boating agendas.

For us, it is important to protect all boater rights here in our state!

We find it fully appropriate speak transparently on how watersports are an integral part of our lifestyle during the short summer months on our beautiful lakes and rivers!

Any wake sport advocate or boat owner who would like to join our effort to SUPPORT the positive aspects of wake sports and tow boats, is asked to please contact our Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA) NH representative Jodi Grimbilas at jodi@jgstrategies.com. It is time to protect the watersports we love and our rights to access the waterways.
